Star hugs the boundary between Ada and Canyon counties along State Street, a small town that has grown with the valley while keeping a farming core. Acreage here spans one-acre lots in newer neighborhoods to working farms along the Boise River, with downtown Boise about 25 to 30 minutes away.

Star is a favorite for buyers who want a true small-town address and land that still borders real farmland. It is also a town of two halves: part of it is served by West Ada schools and part by the Middleton district, and the utility picture changes crossing the county line, so the specifics of any given parcel matter.

  • Newer large-lot subdivisions on one side, river-bottom farms on the other.
  • Lot sizes from one acre to several, with working hay ground still in production around town.

Water, wells, and septic

Newer Star subdivisions have city services built in. Rural parcels and the Canyon County side commonly run on private wells and septic, and irrigation water is part of the picture for pasture and hay ground. We always pull the utility records before writing an offer.

Schools

Star straddles the county line. Most of the city is served by the West Ada School District, with a portion in the Middleton School District #134 on the Canyon County side.

Commute

Downtown Boise is about 25 to 30 minutes via Idaho 16 and the interstate, and Eagle is ten minutes down the road.
